Living in North America and growing up on the Canada-U.S. border, I'll admit that I see a disproportionately high number of American semi trucks, and the last thing I want to do is to see any more of them.

Even now, my apartment is next to a road with heavy truck traffic all day, every day, their hollow, heavy diesel clacking audible just before they rumble past my window.

I would opine more often on how full-sized trucks and SUVs have been one of the most vile, cancerous developments in recent history and structurally threaten our entire way of life…but there's still an 8-year-old version of me inside that would file most new trucks into a Mead binder under the word COOL.

Before I continue, do you have a hunch for what you're looking at here, other than sheer brilliance? A semi, crossed with a full-size pickup truck.

A Lil Big Rig Lil Kenny is a custom, small-size semi truck body on a full-sized truck frame, designed by an Australian immigrant Bob Suffern and manufactured by approximately three women in Nashville, Tennessee.

(I say approximately because it's not clear who's working there today compared to what the source material shows from a decade or more in the past.)
