The internet has made things easier for everyone, and social media in particular has made a big difference for people like me, who have a varied but unique skill set and perspective on the world.

Social media has also been a boost for savvy brands who learn how to talk about their latest products like Gen Z would.

So, companies hire professional marketing agencies (who employ young people willing to work long hours for little pay) to tweet for them, do Instagram posts, and create Tik Tok dances — at, of course, great cost that does bump the bottom line.

In the early 1980s, to get attention for your product — assuming that you sell Wolfrace alloy wheels — you phone Nick Butler, a former aerospace engineer who can say, with a straight face, “I worked on the Harrier jump jet”. Then have him design a promotional vehicle. The Sonic.
