WHAT, YOU’RE AFRAID OF A LITTLE COLOUR?

With colour blocking taken to the max — red, yellow, and green splashed across this miniature roadster’s hull — the Jo-Car might have found itself standing among other great kei names like Beat, Cappuccino, or AZ-1…but this Subaru did not hit as expected.

At the 1987 Tokyo Motor Show, if you put the whole picture together, our Jo-Car shared the stand with the ‘Business and Leisure Transport’ BLT, (Subaru helpfully references sandwiches in the show guide), and a four-door tour de force anti-depressant: the burgundy F-624 Estremo.
