So-called ’premium’ small cars are dead now, I suppose. At least in North America. Shame.

Even a 500 Abarth I used to own, or the modified smart fortwo 451 I replaced it with, were almost too large, luxurious, and fast for what I needed them to do.

I tried vintage small cars, too. The best ones were slow enough to require full throttle constantly, but that would eventually exceed the speed limit, to keep up with traffic.

Depending on one’s level of commitment (more is faster), and need for survivability (less is faster) you’d be surprised at how little performance is needed.
